Why Does My Onion Feel Slippery?

Because of temperature changes.

As the temperature of the onion falls, so does the viscosity of the oil, creating a coating over the onion, allowing moisture to escape from the fruit’s surface.

Slippery and slimy, that’s the onion!

But it’s totally edible, just not as sexy as straight up raw onion.
