Before we go any further let’s get one thing straight.

It’s St Patrick’s Day, St Pat’s or St Paddy’s Day. It is not St Patty’s.

Calling him Patty would make him female and I’m fairly sure that changing the gender of Ireland’s patron saint is punishable by death in that country.*

Now that that’s cleared up, onward to the eating!

The staples of my homeland’s native fare are generally potato, cabbage, bacon and corned beef but I’ve tried to give you a bit more variety with the below recipes.

Yes, Guinness does feature heavily. No, I’m not sorry.

*It’s possible I’m wrong on this.
